Our story begins, as so many good ones do, with spring break and decisions fueled by alcohol.
We met in 2011 in the BVIs, on a debaucherous Yacht Week trip. Cat was getting her MBA in New York. Will was getting his masters in North Carolina. Will was a Yacht Week skipper. Cat had never sailed before. It was a good week.
What was supposed to be a fling morphed quickly into a long-distance relationship, a joint move to San Francisco, marriage, and dreams of going off on a longer sailing adventure. We found ourselves a couple of jobs, Cat in pharmaceutical consulting and Will in the mapping industry, stuck maps of the Caribbean on our apartment walls, and saved our pennies.
A couple years later, we found ourselves aboard Paradox – a boat we bought sight unseen – and began to travel. Now, we’re hooked. And we have a young child in tow. Where will our adventure take us? We’re not sure yet.
