Actually listened to the podcast first which lead me to you and your site! I love your story and what you’re doing. My hubby and I are currently saving to sail around the world with our young daughter in a few years time so your tips and comments on the podcast were inspirational. Can’t wait to follow your side care adventures. Are you including the UK on your Europe tour? Best of luck and looking forward to watching your progress.

Amazing! I am listening to the podcast right now.
The thing I’ve been worried about most is finances. Biggest concern of mine is overpaying for a boat and ongoing expenses being unmanageable. Dread listening to people talking about 20/30/40% off list price with me thinking I did great with 5% off :s
When you bought your boat – what was the list price before you paid the $37k for the boat? I am definitely going to chase down info from a broker now you’ve put me onto the soldboat.com side of Yworld.com
Thanks for your open candid chat with SailLoot -
The new adventure is neat. But Will I would have chosen a Mini Cooper convertible or an MGB something that would get the helmet off and you could have a conversation and hold the hand of Cat. But that’s me, when this adventure is done if you go back to sailing I think a catamaran is in order. Just saying
We get a lot of questions about money. How much it cost us to sail for a year, how we made our money, do we have trust funds, and all those other questions that are generally wildly inappropriate but people feel totally fine about asking within the context of cruising.
Â
For all of you who are interested in knowing the answers, you’re in luck. Teddy from the Sail Loot podcast asked us all those questions and more in this interview.
Â
He’s chatted with a lot of other cruisers and we’ve all done it in different ways, so there’s a wealth of information in his podcast series for everyone that’s sitting at home trying to figure out how to make the cruising dream a reality.
