By this point, you all know that we feel like we stayed in St. Martin too long. And boy does it feel good to be on the move again! In this video we reveal what we did with the birds that nested on our boat. May have not been the best decision, but we really didn’t know what else to do. And for the record, the boat that we put the birds on looked as though it hadn’t moved in many, many months – so it looked to be as good a spot as any.
After a little beauty and safety maintenance, it was off to St. Kitts. Of course, we couldn’t pass St. Barths and the mega yachts without stopping in, so we made a quick detour. What a site… I’m not sure the video does it justice. But there were literally mega yachts as far as the eye could see – each one bigger than the next. It is staggering to think about the amount of wealth that we kept company.
We didn’t stay long though. We got up early and made the 10 hour passage to the picturesque St. Kitts. There, we went off the beaten cruise ship path. Turns out, you can get around the island in local busses, which are really just vans, for about $3. Way cheaper than the tourist taxies. We spent the day wandering around small towns. Not going to any of the “sites”, but just getting lost in the countryside. It was glorious.
After that, we went hunting for lion fish. Did you know that eels eat lion fish? Neither did we! Turns out they do, AND we caught it on camera.
Hope you enjoy!
